Happy 4th

Hi everyone! Last Saturday I attended my first crop party and had a great time. I intended to post pictures from that, but I've had a hard time trying to upload them because I used a different camera. Instead I have two of the pages I made while I was there to show you.

For this page I used the From my Kitchen cartridge. The grill is cut at 5" and the
"barbeque" is cut at 3". I used Martha Stewart's red tinsel glitter under the grill layer and across the letters. The smoke from the grill ,and the cooking utensils are stamps from Close to my Heart.

Of course I had to make a page for the fourth of July, so here it is ..

This page was pretty simple, I used the Stand and Salute cartridge, stickles for the firecrackers and the Martha Stewart scallop dot edge punch.

The link I've attached is a link to a 55% off A.C. Moore coupon, however, it's only good for today. (6/29/11) Enjoy!

A crop party..finally!

Hi everyone!  A week from now i'll be attending my first crop party and i'm sooo excited! I've been wanting to go to a crop party for a while now but there aren't really any in my area. Luckily I finally found one just an hour away. Anyway, today i'm sharing two projects.

I made this nautical page for pictures taken last weekend, seeing as I have alot of pictures from the beach (since I go about every week) and no beach themed pages. I used the Stand and Salute cartridge for the anchor, and embossed it with the swiss dots embossing folder. And the crabs were made with the Martha Stewart crab punch.

After getting the new Tim Holtz stamps I couldn't wait to use them and share.

All of the stamps I used came from the Curious Possibility set. I also used Tim Holtz distress ink, Peeled Paint for the stamps, and Walnut Stain to distress the edges. Walnut Stain is my absolute favorite ink! I do have some of the other color but I find myself using walnut stain in most of my cards and scrapbook pages.

Well thats all for today, I hope you enjoyed it!
If you haven't entered to win my blog candy there's still time.
Until next time, happy crafting.

Paper Lantern

Hi everyone, I hope you're having a great week. I know I am, this week I've spent alot of time being glued to the Tim Holtz section of Michaels. His new collection is amazing!!! I did have some self control and I left Michaels with only one set of clear stamps (Curious Possibility) and the Kraft Resist stack.

I used the pagoda cartridge for the page I'm showing today, I cut all three of the lanterns on this cartridge at various sizes.( 5'', 5 3/4'', 6'')

While working on this page I realized that I have an undying love for round gems, I use them on almost everything. Well that's all for today, if you haven't entered to win my blog candy there's still time!
All you have to do is be a follower, mention my blog / blog candy in your blog, then leave me a comment or email me and you're entered to win! The winner will be drawn randomly and announced on 6/27/11. Good luck! Until next time happy crafting!

Handmade flowers

Hi everyone, today im going to share another page I made with the Pagoda cartridge. One thing I love about this cartridge is that some of the images are more realistic rather than "cartoonish". For this page I used the hummingbirds and flower 8.

Flower Recipe:
  • Shift Lock on,  Flower 8
  • Cut 2 times at 2”and, Cut 2 times at 1½”
  • Ink all sides of the petals
  •  Shape the flowers with the ends of the petals pointed downward
  •  The pieces are held together using a brad, however, you could glue them together and use a button or gems, etc.
I also have some blog candy!!!
I am giving away four wood mounted vintage looking circus stamps, and 2 inkpads.
All you have to do is be a follower, mention my blog / blog candy in your blog, then leave me a comment or email me and you're entered to win! The winner will be drawn randomly and announced on 6/27/11. Good luck! Until next time happy crafting.

Switching Gears

Hey everyone! I originally intended to post another project using the Pagoda cricut cartridge but after watching a great tutorial on how to make a card using a napkin over at Rambling of a Texas Craftroom (http://ramblingsofatexascraftroom.blogspot.com/)  I had to try it.  I found really cute nautical napkins at Michaels and decided to use those.

This was really easy to make make, I used the napkin of course, cling wrap, and cardstock.
The crabs were made with a Martha Stewart punch, and some wiggly eyes to make them look really cute. While at Michaels I also picked up some really nice clear stamps with all sorts of  things like furniture, silverware, clocks, etc. So I made a card using my new stamps. I have grown very fond of micro beads, so I used those for the seat cushions as well as some gems and it came out great.
Well thats it for today, until next time happy crafting!

Grandma's Birthday Card.

Hi everyone, i'm still working with the Pagoda cricut cartridge, and today I'm going to share a card. My grandmother's birthday is this month so I decided to make her birthday card. I absolutely love the unique shapes on the Pagoda cartridge, it offers such a nice asian flare. I used "flower 9" ( page 58) which is cut at 5 1/2'', I also used the D'vine Swirl cuttlebug embossing folder for the background. To add a nice elegant touch I included some gems.

Making this card left me feeling a little accomplished (lol). That's all for today, I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Until next time Happy Crafting!

Thanks ever so much!

Hey everyone, I hope you had  fantastic weekend. I actually spent the weekend at the beach and had a really great time. As I stated in my last post I moved on to another cartridge  "Pagoda". I got this cartridge sometime last year at Michaels for $10 they were having a super sale and I certainly couldn't pass it up. So today i'm sharing a thank you card I made with the cartridge.
The card is 8''x4 1/4'' and the panda is cut a 3 1/2''. You cant tell from the photo, but I used pop dots under the panda to make him stand out. The ribbon was my inspiration for the color, it's part of a collection from Michaels called "Fit to be Tied". This sentiment is a wood mounted stamp I found for just $1 also at Michaels. I hope you enjoyed this card, thats all for now. Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Lime Tree..

Hi everyone, hope you all are doing well and having a great week! Today i'm sharing another layout I made with the Cherry Limeade cartridge, this is the last project before I move onto the another cartridge. I'm attempting to utilize the cartridges I have before I purchase anymore.
I think this page came out great, I had to use the lime tree, its one of my favorites from this cartridge. One of the biggest challenges for me was trying to figure out how to use all those shades of green. But of course with the right amount of Tim Holtz distress ink ( another one of my favorites lol ) I managed to get it done. :)

Typically i'm excited about adding a new page to my scrapbook, but i'm absolutely thrilled about this one!
Well that's all for now, the next cartridge i'll be working with is Pagoda. Until next time, happy crafting!

A Birdie Birthday Card

Hello everyone, and happy hump day :) Today i'm going to share a birthday card I made, but before that I have to tell you that I found a really great deal at Michaels. Fiskars clear acrylic stamps for just $3!
This was on clearance along with many others, apparently michaels is getting rid of their fiskars stamps and I couldn't pass up the opportunity. So on to the bithday card...
Once again I used the Cherry Limeade cartridge for both the bird and the flower. Wiggly eyes are really starting to grow on me and I thought they eyes would make the bird look adorable. The blue dots are actually called "round gems" ( I call them bubbles :). Prior to yesterday I had never seen them before, but I got them and decided to try them out. They are clear and they aren't sticky on the back so you'd have to use glue to adhere them. I used regular school glue, and it came out perfect you can't even tell its there. Well that's all for today. I think im going to share one more layout using this catridge and then ill move on to a new cartridge. I hope everyone enjoyed the card, and until next time happy crafting!
