A simple layout

Hi everyone, I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day. I actually spent the day with my family at the aquarium and had a great time, but after that I came home and made a really simple, quick, scrapbook page.

I used the cherry limeade cartridge for the flower, and thespot for my journal is actually a tag from the sentimentals cartridge ( page 42). I thought the Martha Stewart Scallop Dot edge punch looked great with the flower so thats what I used to make the border and it came out wonderful. In previous blog entries i've told you that sometimes I collect cartrides and other crafty things rather than using them. As of right now i'd like to really make the most of each cartridge. Most of the time I only use them if by chance some occassion arises, rather than utilizing them because I have them. So the plan is to take each cartridge and use it a few different ways before I move onto the next. So far, with cherry limeade i've made this page, and a popsicle card in my last blog. If you have this cartridge and you've made some really great things.. which im sure you have, feel free to email them to me :)
Until next time happy crafting!

Cherry Limeade.

Hey everyone, so today I made a popsicle card using the cricut lite cartridge Cherry Limeade. Cherry Limeade is one of my favorite lite cartridges because it has a very versatile font and some really cute images that are great for summer. I added a red tint to the popsicle and used tim holtz walnut stain distress ink on the popsicle sticks.

I'll probably be using this cartridge a lot more often since its that time of year. I also used a simple phrase stamp I found at michaels for just $1.
Well thats all for today, until next time happy crafting, and have a fantastic Memorial Day. Feel free to leave comments :)

Thinking of you

Hi everyone, lately i've been having alot more time to work on my crafts so i've been able to post something everyday :) .Today I made a simple "thinking of you" card using  two martha stewart punches.

Its hard to admit but I think I might love Martha Stewart, or atleast her paper punches :) . Even though her products can sometimes be a little over priced some of her punches are absolutely beautiful. The two punches I used were the Classic Butterfly and the deep edge punch - Scroll Heart. Just this morning I ran across a rare 50% off coupon for Michaels and figured I just had to share!
However, this coupon is only good for today so act fast. Well that's it for now, until next time happy crafting!

Trying something new.

Hello everyone, today I worked on my scrapbook, and made a double layout. These pages were for my recent vacation I took to the Biltmore Estate in AshevilleNC. I wanted these pages to be a little elegant so I took on Martha Stewarts glass microbeads, for embellishing the flourishes I cut using the cricut Sentimentals cartridge.
At first I was sceptical about using the microbeads simply because they're alot like glitter that has the ability to roll right out of place. I've been told that you have to use Glossy Accents Glaze to adhere the beads, but i've found that regular school glue works just fine. Well here's the layout.

These pictures are from the Inn on the estate. I left a spot open for me to journal later because i coulnt wait to post it. The key and doorknob were also made with the Sentimentals cricut cartridge. The doorknob is actually an envelope for  ticket stubs and other memorabilia from my trip. Well I hope you enjoy until next time, happy crafting!

Getting into stamping.

Hi everyone, here lately i've been finding myself using the same gadgets or the same techniques over and over again, as of yesterday I decided that I needed to move out of my comfort zone and broaden my horizon a little. And so im starting to use stamps! Luckily Michaels arts and crafts (as a whole) is experienceing a merchandise reset meaning alot of their older stamps are being put out on clearance so they have room for new ones. I got this really nice sunflower stamps for a little over $4.

I had never used a stamp as the focal point for any of my projects, but it was a lot less painful than I thought it would be :) . I made a simple "just because" card using the stamp and a Martha Stewart edge punch and the Cuttlebug for a little embossing.
Ultimately my goal is to start using those things I puchased and had either forgotten about or just never gotten around to making use of them. To be honest I was starting to feel like more of a collecter of crafty things rather than a crafter. If you have something new that you've tried and enjoyed, or you have a favorite technique feel free to share :) .Well that's it for today! I do intend to post something atleast 2 or 3 times a week, time permitting. Until next time, take care and happy crafting!
